With over 25 years IT Industry experience including more than 15 years in bid and engagement management, Nic has extensive experienced in bid, contracts and programme management and is Skilled in the development of the Bid Strategy, creation of the Value Proposition with a broad background in the development, management and control of corporate bid processes.

Nic has a history of personal involvement in non-profit organisations and has been elected to numerous board positions within the AFSM International, Rotary, Lions International and various school boards.

Having been an active member of UKAPMP since 2004, Nic has served as a board director for the past four years.

Nic fully embraces the mission of the APMP to promote the professionalism of those engaged in new business acquisition pursuits. His key objectives as CEO for 2011 are to maintain the high standard of chapter events synonymous with the UKAPMP and grow membership in both existing and new market areas by raising the profile of the Association through high quality public relations and marketing.

Frances spent 15 years in procurement before making a career change to support the set up of the Compaq UK Strategic Proposal Centre. Frances has extensive subsequent experience in bid and proposal management in IT and telecoms and is currently within HP’s IT Outsourcing division, working in the EMEA Strategic Sales Centre providing a single point of accountability for all aspects of the bid pursuit from kick-off to contract signing.

A member of the UKAPMP since inception, Frances is passionate about seeking and applying best practice to the pursuit phase of customer engagement. Having led the events committee for several years she has this year stepped as COO.

Board Member: Chris Milburn - Marketing, PR and Communications Director

Chris began his career as an engineer, designing aircraft mounted oil exploration systems, and developing communications systems for the Royal Navy. He then moved in to Business Development, and it was here that he gained his experience in the proposal industry, through a series of bid management and consultancy roles.

As a salesperson, facilitator and trainer, Chris now predominantly works for Shipley Ltd. and Proposal Genie, running training workshops and generating new business for both organisations.

A member of APMP since 2007, Chris took on the role of administrating the job vacancies pages on the APMP website in 2009. He is delighted to have been invited to join the APMP board. Chris is looking forward to supporting APMP to increase awareness of what we do, and working with the other board members to develop an enhanced suite of services for our members, promoting APMP to an even wider audience.

Ken has over twenty years of proposal and bid management experience within the construction industry.  He leads major and business critical bids at John Sisk & Son Ltd.  His portfolio of successful bidding ranges from traditional construction bids through to multi billion pound partnership deals. To date he has been involved in securing in excess of £20bn of revenue through successful bids.

Ken has served on the UKAPMP board since 2005 and in 2010 was honoured to serve as the CEO. Ken is now delighted to be responsible for the 2011 Conference, a role that is now too big to be managed solely by the events team.

Laurence is now the Head of the Ricoh Bid Team having performed other commercial roles and been the Financial Controller, for 20 years within the Group. With a wealth of Operational skills and Commercial awareness, Laurence has created a solid platform for the Bid Team and encourages the use of Best Practice and continuous improvement.

Having been a member of the APMP since 2007, Laurence now supports the UK APMP challenges of 2010. Key UK objectives are membership growth, Corporate packages/benefits and building further on showing value to our members.

Ken Newland has been a member of UKAPMP since 2005 achieving APMPProposal Practitioner. As director for COI and regional event groups his objective for2011 is to help provide opportunities for all UKAPMP members to benefit from theirmembership.

Ken is now a freelance trainer / consultant after spending 36 years in businessdevelopment and project / risk management with Ferranti , Quintec Associates andThales where, as Principle Consultant, he worked on many MOD prime contractbids.

Steven is a bid management professional with over 15 years experience of business development, proposal and bid management in IT, services and solutions. A member of the UKAPMP since 2001, Steven has held various bid related positions and most recently joined Compass Group to lead the implementation of a world-class strategic bid centre. Steven will support the organisation of the 2011 events programme, ensuring chapter meetings are insightful and relevant to the needs of the membership.

Victoria has been an active member of UKAPMP since 2006 supporting the team with several initiatives.  Her membership objectives for 2011 are to work with other members of the Board to increase the membership, assist in resolving member enquiries and develop the corporate packages.

Victoria began her career in Marketing and moved into bidding ‘accidentally’.  She has over eight years experience working in proposal management and has for the last four years worked as a Bids & Proposals consultant for Quintec.

Mark joined the APMP following accreditation in 2010 and was immediately keen to become active in the UK Chapter.

As Chapter Secretary Mark’s objectives for 2011 are to enhance the governance and administration elements of the Chapter, and to enable other board members to bring increased focus to their respective disciplines.

Mark is an experienced Bid Manager with over 10 years in IT, Telecoms and Outsourcing, 7 years of which were in bids and proposals.

With over 25 years IT Industry experience including more than 12 years in bid and engagement management, Martin has extensive experience in bid and commercial management and is skilled in driving engagement activity from opportunity qualification and campaign planning through to bid lifecycle management and contract negotiation.

Martin is currently an Engagement Manager at Siemens IT Solutions and Services working primarily in the Government sector.

A member of UKAPMP since 2004, Martin has served as a board director for the last two years as the CFO.
